“As counselors we are asked to be so many things; Mother, father, big sister, big brother, psychologists, confidant, doctor, nurturer, dietitian, mediator, tutor, teacher, mentor, disciplinarian, coach, instructor, guardian. In essence, we become parents for 8 weeks, while the other 44 weeks we are selfish 20 something’s. We are asked to do way too much, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Can you wear all these hats at the same time for 5 or 10 different people at once? If your answer is yes, then I think you just found your home.”
