Working as a summer camp counselor at Adirondack Camp, you will lead Water Skills classes for energetic boys and girls ages 6-17. You will be working in one of five beautiful swimming areas on Lake George.

As a member of the Water Skills Staff you will teach all levels of swimmers based on the Red Cross progressive swim program. You will also be a Lifeguard during recreational swimming. Snorkeling is another fun thing for kids to enjoy on the lake so snorkeling experience is desirable, but not a requirement.

Job Description

As a Water Skills Instructor & Lifeguard you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, and overall enjoyment of campers during their time at Adirondack Camp. You will be responsible for promoting camper safety, fostering a positive culture, and helping to make lasting memories for all.

Qualifications

  • You will be supervising children ages 7-16, engaging them in a variety of fun activities, program specific games, and more.
  • It’s your job to create a friendly, positive camp environment, encouraging camper participation and teamwork.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating the values of Adirondack in interactions with campers and fellow staff members.
  • Assist in planning and organizing daily camp activities and special events.
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Ensure the well-being of campers by following established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized camp, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment.

Certifications

Certifications may be earned during staff training.
