Job Description

As a Stand Up Paddle Board Instructor you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, and overall enjoyment of campers during their time at Adirondack Camp. You will be in charge of guiding our campers on the water, as well as teaching the fundamentals of stand up paddle boarding, including launching, landing, board and paddle control, standing, balance, safety, rescue, maneuvers, and strokes. You will also be responsible for promoting camper safety, fostering a positive culture, and helping to make lasting memories for all.

Qualifications

  • You will be supervising children ages 7-16, engaging them in a variety of fun activities, program specific games, and more.
  • It’s your job to create a friendly, positive camp environment, encouraging camper participation and teamwork.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating the values of Adirondack in interactions with campers and fellow staff members.
  • Assist in planning and organizing daily camp activities and special events.
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Ensure the well-being of campers by following established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized camp, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment.

Certifications

Certification courses are offered pre-season to staff.

  • Current American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard certification
  • Red Cross CPR Certified
