Lake George is perfect for sailing, and this double period activity is filled to capacity. Experienced sailors must be capable of teaching a progressively challenging program. Our sailing fleet includes 6 FJs, 6 Optis, a JY 15, a Capri 14, 2 Lasers, and a 420. Applicants must have 3-5 years of experience sailing a variety of boats and experience driving small outboard-powered motorboats. All applicants should have a boating license or take a safe-boating course (offered online prior to camp). Current American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer are a plus; this course is offered pre-season to staff.
As a Sailing Instructor you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, and overall enjoyment of campers during their time at Adirondack Camp. Sailing instructors teach basic fundamentals for first-time sailors, competitive racing for advanced sailors, and work with our trip staff to lead day and overnight trips. You will also be responsible for promoting camper safety, fostering a positive culture, and helping to make lasting memories for all.
Certification courses are offered pre-season to staff.
