Performing Arts

Use fun games in a theater workshop setting to help campers learn character and scene development, improvisation, playwriting, and acting. Our focus is not on performance but rather to build an “actor’s toolbox” that builds confidence, creativity, and the ability to speak in front of a group. Our music program gives campers the opportunity to jam using camp instruments: guitars, drums & keyboard, collaborate on mini-musicals, and experiment with songwriting. Skill areas should include teaching ability in several of these areas.

Job Description

As a Performing Arts Instructor you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, and overall enjoyment of campers during their time at Adirondack Camp. You will be in charge of teaching our campers a variety of performing arts, from acting to singing, and everything in between. You will also be responsible for promoting camper safety, fostering a positive culture, and helping to make lasting memories for all.

Qualifications

You will be supervising children ages 7-16, engaging them in a variety of fun activities, program specific games, and more.
It’s your job to create a friendly, positive camp environment, encouraging camper participation and teamwork.
Act as a role model by demonstrating the values of Adirondack in interactions with campers and fellow staff members.
Assist in planning and organizing daily camp activities and special events.
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
Ensure the well-being of campers by following established safety guidelines and protocols.
Maintain a clean and organized camp, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment.

Certification courses are offered pre-season to staff.
